Institution: NAND flash memory prices will decrease by 10% to 15% month on month in Q1
According to TrendForce data, the price of NAND flash memory components has weakened due to seasonal weak demand and rising inventory. Market analysts predict that prices will drop by 10% to 15% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter.
Although the demand for enterprise grade SSDs has performed well, the market demand for client solid state drives (SSDs), which are hard drives used in personal computers, is weak. TrendForce believes that the price drop of NAND flash memory in enterprise SSDs is only 5% to 10%.
Due to weak sales of consumer electronics products and conservative buyer sentiment, other NAND flash memory (such as UFS) manufacturers may face higher price declines.
TrendForce stated that the discontinuation of support for Windows 10 may drive sales of some PCs, but AI-PC applications are still "immature" and have not prompted customers to purchase.
TrendForce believes that the embedded multimedia card (eMMC) market is driven by smartphones, but manufacturers are facing inventory backlog and suppliers are forced to lower contract prices by 13% to 18%.
